Episode 32

Join Michaela Carlin and Tyson Adams as they discuss porn addiction, sexual trauma, and the therapeutic use of psychedelics. Tyson shares about his history with pornography and how it led to a deeper understanding of his sexuality. He also shares intimate details of his practice involving sacred sexuality and the deliberate and mindful engagement in sexual practices.

Tyson’s personal journey of porn addiction began at a tender age and became normalized during his college years. He highlights the impact of pornography on men's perception of women and how it can outsource pleasure to the women, deflecting men's responsibility for their own pleasure.

Tyson's approach involves dealing with unattached burdens and energies through methods such as N,N-DMT mirror work, which he attests led him to one of his most profound ego death experiences. He also uses tools like Internal Family Systems and bioelectric massage machines coupled with micro or macro doses of mushrooms. His work is rooted in the belief that trauma is stored in specific parts of the body and that in decommodifying ourselves we can truly understand our worth as soul beings.

Tyson Adams is a trauma-informed IFS coach, bioelectric deep tissue massage therapist, and psychedelic facilitator. With a personal journey of healing, Tyson successfully overcame a 20-year addiction to pornography, drawing from the transformative power of Earth medicine along the way.

Specializing in the field of sexual addiction, sexual trauma, complex PTSD, and porn addiction, Tyson provides valuable support to individuals and couples. His expertise extends to addressing issues such as erectile and orgasmic challenges, mindful masturbation, shadow work, toxic shame, pelvic floor strengthening, and sacred sexuality.

Driven by his own experiences, Tyson is a vocal advocate for raising awareness about the detrimental effects of early childhood exposure to pornography, as well as, and the hidden adverse effects on experienced by men and women due to pornography. He emphasizes the urgent need for effective safety measures and increased awareness surrounding the porn industry's impact on adolescents and teens. Through thought-provoking discussions, he sheds light on the many ways that porn addiction affects intimate relationships and highlights the relational trends today that are influenced by pornography.

When he’s not working you’ll catch him on a rock wall or riding a slackline between two palm trees in sunny, San Diego.
